The GDPR clearly stipulates that you must maintain proof of your contacts’ consent.

This proof must be the result of a request made with the use of an “opt-in” button provided within a form, at the time of subscription.

It may be that you do not have sufficient proof of consent for your existing contacts. Not a problem!

We recommend that you send a new request for consent to your existing contacts via email. They can then select the email preferences they would like to stay subscribed to.

In this sense, you have two choices: you can either build your own GDPR confirmation email or use one of the GDPR email templates provided in the app.

Create an email to request GDPR-related consent – Building your own email

Creating an email to send a new request for consent is simple.

Go into the “Emails” tool and click on the “Create an email” button.

After selecting a campaign for your email, choose a public template or choose one of your own existing templates (for example: my templates).

For this example, we’ll choose a public template, namely a “Blank email” template.

As you create your email, use the drag and drop builder to position the text and images according to your preferences.

Then write the title and body of the email in such a way that it will encourage your contacts to confirm their interest in continuing to subscribe to your list and in receiving your communications.

Please note: you are required to direct your contacts toward the “GDPR Email Preferences” page, where they will be able to confirm which types of communications they would like to receive from you.

To do this, you will need to add a CTA button and include this code in the link:

Save your work and send yourself a test email to ensure that it is functioning properly.

Lastly, all you need to do is select the email lists for which you would like to have consent confirmed and send it out!

1)   Use our GDPR temples directly in the app

Our team has developed a series of templates designed to help you ask your contacts to reconfirm their consent. They are available among the public templates. All you have to do is choose your preferred design and make slight adjustments to the text so that it suits your business. The email preference code is already built into the button provided.

2)   Engage your contacts more than once and test your email titles

In order to maximize the number of consent confirmations you receive, we suggest that you engage those contacts more than once.

Test out your email titles in order to increase your open rate and ultimately get more clicks and consent confirmations :)
